How I ended up here
Hey, I’m Danielle.
I wasn’t supposed to be running a covert writing operation.
Before Writers By Night, I was an editor. That gave me a front-row seat to how stories are built—and how quickly they can break under the weight of “rules.” I watched gatekeepers and gurus crush brilliant writers with rigid formulas until their stories lost their spark. Instead of making stories stronger, it was making writers doubt themselves… and making me doubt the system.
And then Scribble showed up.
Black cat. Bat wings. Eyes that sparkle like he knows your story’s secret twist. One second he’s perched on my desk, the next he’s knocking over my coffee and vanishing into the dark. I didn’t think. I just chased.
Through an alley. Down a side street. Into a narrow door… and straight into an ink portal.
On the other side was Writers By Night HQ—a hidden network of writers done with rigid rules and ready to make their own. That’s when it hit me: it wasn’t just about writing. It was a mission.
Here, we celebrate what makes you you. The way your brain naturally sparks ideas, makes meaning, and tells stories is your superpower. Once you build from that place, writing stops feeling like a battle against yourself and starts feeling like progress you can believe in.
But the truth is, I didn’t end up here because I cracked the code and left the struggle behind. I’m still in the field, dodging the Productivity Police and wrestling with the Shadows of Doubt like anyone else.
Around here they call me the Conductor of Creativity—but really, I’m still the recruit who followed the midnight muse into HQ.
I’ve run the ops. I’ve mapped the territory. And now I’m here to make sure you don’t have to fight this mission alone.
